Boracay Island Kiteboarding / Kitesurfing at Bulabog Beach,

Bulabog Beach is a large lagoon about two miles long, protected by offshore reefs. It has become known as one of the top windsurfing and kiteboarding (kitesurfing) beaches in Asia. The windy season is between November and April when winds are generally steady and onshore, blowing usually between 12 and 20 knots. The beautiful, turquoise waters in Boracay are always warm, hovering around 27’C. There is shallow and flat water in the bay and rolling and breaking waves out beyond the reef for the more adventurous kiteboarders.

NEWS:  One of the official stages of the Kiteboard Tour Asia (KTA) 2011 will be held here in Boracay in March. Many of the world’s top riders in the sport will be heading here for the event.

According to online PR News on 17-January-2011, the Asian program started off in Hainan, China in November and will then move to Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and finally Korea. Boracay will stage the Filipino section and with its perfect kite surfing conditions is looking to attract some of the world’s leading talent.

As an official competition of the International Kiteboarding Association (IKA) the points awarded in the event will qualify for each contestant’s world ranking. Competitors can gain points in two core disciplines, consisting of course racing and freestyle, and there will also be other side events such as the Big Air Cup for the highest jumpers and a sub-class racing event for more amateur riders.

From 16th to 20th March all the events will be happening at Bulabog Beach Boracay. Bulabog Beach Boracay was chosen for the tour stage due to the consistently good winds and the still waters that make for superior kiteboarding conditions.

Palm Breeze Villa Boracay enjoys a slightly elevated position at the north side of Bulabog Beach, and is perfectly positioned on the curve of the bay offering an uninterrupted view over the whole bay.

Since a lot of people will be coming to Boracay to watch this event, please book your room early at Palm Breeze Villa to avoid disappointment!

Boracay Kiteboarding

There are a number of establishments along Bulabog beach renting top quality equipment with a good selection of board and sail sizes. Recognised IKO Kiteboarding courses are available for all levels from beginners to advanced. Beginners get started flying a trainer kite on dry land to get the feel of flying and controlling the kite. From there, students learn to fly the kite in the water without a board, or "body-dragging". Once ready, the next step is getting on a board. There are several types of lessons available, depending on time you have available and/or prior kiteboarding experience.

Kiteboarding is a fun, fast sport which has really taken off in Boracay over the last few years and there are now far more kiteboarders here than windsurfers.

Palm Breeze Villa is a Boracay hotel located on Bulabog beach, a great location for kiteboarders / kitesurfers. Just look out of your window from this beautiful island resort to check the wind conditions and watch the Boracay kiteboarding in action! There are some really good kiteboarders here and it is awe-inspiring to watch them perform their jumps and somersaults in the air. Book your accommodation early at Palm Breeze Villa Boracay hotel to avoid disappointment!
